About Hotwash Australia
Hotwash Australia Pty Ltd has its origins in the Perth, Western Australian based, Western Machinery and Supplies Pty Ltd, established by Jim McDonald in 1989 to service the general engineering, mining and automotive industries in Osborne Park, Perth, Western Australia.
Jim’s career in engineering expands over 33 years in Australia and overseas. Jim began his training with specialist engineering company Warren and Brown based in Melbourne in 1978. He spent the first year at the renown and highly respected Repco Engineering Training Centre in Carlton, Melbourne. Under expert guidance, he gained valuable technical skills and learnt to operate a wide range of engineering equipment.
He remained with Warren and Brown for eight years gaining his 1st Class Fitting and Turning, Tool Making & Production Technician Certificates whilst working in all the different engineering sections. He moved from the manufacturing of machinery, equipment and components into the engineering sales office where he developed valuable business skills. Prior to leaving Warren & Brown to expand his career opportunities, Jim became the official company product expediter serving as right hand man to the chief engineer of the day, Harold Woods.
In 1986 he joined Premier Machinery in Victoria as a Sales Engineer, selling, installing and maintaining a wide range of engineering equipment including the French made Serdi Valve Seat & Guide machines, the US made Kwikway & Rottler grinding, boring and surfacing equipment and Danish made AMC-Schou precision grinding and boring machines in Australia and overseas..
In 1989, seeing the need for a locally based representative to serve the local engineering, mining & engine reconditioning industries, Jim relocated to Perth, establishing the precision engineering equipment supply company Western Machinery and Supplies Pty Ltd. WM&S sold and installed new engineering equipment and reconditioned precision engineering equipment “in house” at its own engineering workshop in Osborne Park, Perth.
WM&S also provides precision tooling and consumables to Western Australian engineering companies, mining companies, and engine reconditioners. Western Machinery & Supplies Pty Ltd also imported their own range of hydraulic barrel honing equipment. Jim’s vast experience and knowledge of the general and engine reconditioning industries has seen him sell, install and maintain over 700 machines in Australia and overseas since 1986.
Over the years Jim expanded his interests into the Automatic Parts Degreasing equipment industry and as a result established Hotwash Australia Pty Ltd in 2003, while still maintaining the Western Machinery and Supplies Pty Ltd office in Osborne Park.
